Maddow blows the lid off of the 58 Trump officials and organizations being questioned about Wikileaks and Julian Assange

MSNBC anchor Rachel Maddow on Tuesday reported that an analysis of document requests by the House Judiciary Committee found that 58 individuals and organizations received document requests.

"One of the things you should be watching for right now concerns Wikileaks," Maddow flagged.

"In that massive pile of document requests that were sent out yesterday by the Judiciary Committee, Wikileaks and Julian Assange and Roger Stone were asked for documents and communications that relate to that issue, that relate to Wikileaks and their role in dumping Russian intelligences' stolen material during the presidential campaign," she noted.

"But it's interesting, it's not just those entities -- it's not just Wikileaks and Julian Assange and Roger Stone -- who are being asked by the Judiciary Committee about Wikileaks," she noted.

We've been going through all of those document requests and it turns out a ton of people, yeah, a ton of people in Trump's orbit have been formally asked by the Judiciary Committee now for any documents or communications they have regarding Wikileaks," Maddow explained.

The host put up a graphic showing the 58 individuals and organizations questioned about any contact with Wikileaks or Julian Assange.

Maddow also noted how, G. Zachary Terwilliger, the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, was himself in court today for a sealed hearing that is believed to relate to Wikileaks.

"Something appears to be happening in federal court that pertains to Wikileaks and Julian Assange and this is happening as the president's long-time advisor Roger Stone goes to trial for lying to Congress and witness tampering allegedly about his supposed communications with Wikileaks during the campaign," she concluded.
