Manafort’s conspiracy with Russia is ‘the beating heart’ of special counsel investigations: Atlantic writer

The latest legal filings in the criminal cases against former Donald Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort have shown there was collusion with Russia during the 2016 campaign, Atlantic writer Franklin Foer concluded.

Foer joined MSNBC's "All In" with Chris Hayes to discuss what Manafort's legal team inadvertently revealed publicly.

"A cornered president storms out, as the Mueller probe closes in," Hayes reported. "Tonight, what looks like the end of the collusion debate as the Manafort bombshell lands on Capitol Hill."

"How big a deal are these revelations?" Hayes asked.

"I think it's a big deal, but I think it's maybe more suggestive of what the broader narrative is than conclusive on its own," Foer replied.

"So in effect, yes, this is collusion," he concluded. "But I think we don't even know the scope and broadest contours of that collusion yet."

"I think there's [a] really good reason to think that the scandal has several beating hearts it looks like, but one of the beating hearts of the scandal has obviously always been Paul Manafort," Foer added.
