Trump is getting 'a proctological exam of the highest order' from Manhattan DA: former fixer Michael Cohen

Former Trump "fixer" Michael Cohen this week used a graphic analogy to describe what the American legal system is doing to his longtime boss.

In an interview with the Washington Post, Cohen said that he's been interviewed by the Manhattan District Attorney's office multiple times about the Trump Organization's financial dealings, and he said that investigators are leaving no stone unturned.

"The level of review is unprecedented in Trump's corporate history," said Cohen, who described the inquiry as "a proctological exam of the highest order."

Prosecutors are conducting a sweeping investigation into Trump's finances, as attorneys working for Manhattan DA Cy Vance have told courts they they are probing whether Trump committed tax fraud by lying about the value of his properties.

Vance's office in recent weeks has subpoenaed financial documents related to a skyscraper that Trump built in Chicago, as well as local government meeting records related to his efforts to develop the Seven Springs estate in Westchester County, New York, indicating that attorneys are looking at potentially widespread fraudulent practices across the former president's real estate empire.

Cohen in 2019 told members of the House of Representatives that Trump regularly cheated on his taxes and bragged at how he was getting big refunds from the government that he apparently didn't deserve.
