The White House said Tuesday it was working to get the Medicaid website portal back online.
Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt posted on social media, "The White House is aware of the Medicaid website portal outage. We have confirmed no payments have been affected — they are still being processed and sent. We expect the portal will be back online shortly."
Democrats blamed President Donald Trump's sweeping executive order freezing federal loans and grants for the site outage. Medicaid provides health insurance to more than 70 million Americans.

Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR), wrote on BlueSky Tuesday, "My staff has confirmed reports that Medicaid portals are down in all 50 states following last night's federal funding freeze." He added, "This is a blatant attempt to rip away health care from millions of Americans overnight and will get people killed."
Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) also reported that the portal was down in his state.
"Connecticut’s Medicaid payment system has been turned off," Murphy wrote on X. "Doctors and hospitals cannot get paid. Discussions ongoing about whether services can continue. Medicaid covers health care for millions of seniors and covers 40% of births in America."
The Atlantic reported Tuesday that Trump's executive order pausing the disbursement of federal funds already appropriated by Congress violates Article I, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution.
