Member of Anita Hill's legal team slams GOP for brushing off Kavanaugh's hearing: 'This is not Judge Judy'

In light of Supreme Court justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh being accused of sexual assault by California professor Dr. Christine Ford — several people have compared his investigation to the Anita Hill case.

Hill accused Supreme Court Judge Clarence Thomas of sexual harassment in the 1990s. On Friday, Emma Jordan, who sat on Hill's legal team sat down with CNN's Erica Hill to talk about the similarities and differences in the two situations.

"I think there are some things that are different, and some things that are the same. We are being inundated with frameworks that puts Dr. Ford in the position of being mixed up, confused, and not a reliable reporter about her own experience," Jordan said. "Today the president added to that by saying, 'why didn't she report it and even bringing her parents into this.'"

She added that the GOP has not taken the case seriously.

Jordan continued, "It isn't a trial — this is not Judge Judy where we bring people in and there's this back and forth. This is a serious commitment that our elected officials have been elected to give their best judgment and to represent U.S. in that role."
