MI man arrested after vowing to post nude pics of ex-girlfriend online until she killed herself

Police in Bay City, Michigan arrested a man for posting nude photographs of his ex-girlfriend on Facebook in order to drive her to commit suicide, The Bay City Timesreports.

The victim went to police and said that her ex-boyfriend, Chad Monroe, was harassing her online. He began posting nude photographs of her on Facebook -- which the company quickly removed, but not before copies of the images had been downloaded. Monroe threatened to continue posting the images until she returned what he believes is his property.

She also said Monroe had told her he would "make her life a living hell" until she killed herself, and her mother -- who accompanied her to the Bay City police station -- has the text messages to prove it. The victim took out a personal protection order (PPO) against Monroe, but has been unable to serve it to him.

According to court records, when the police contacted Monroe, he said, "I know about the PPO, but it's all bullshit and you won't find me to serve me. I talked with my lawyer and he said I can put naked pictures of [the victim] on the Internet and I am going to keep doing it until she gives me my shit back. There's nothing you can do about it. I am staying up in Pinconning with my crazy aunt and she will shoot anyone who comes onto her property."

Prosecutors disagreed with Monroe's lawyer's interpretation of the law, and he was arrested on stalking and unlawful posting of a message on the Internet, which together could land him in jail for three years.
