'He's like a 5-year-old': Morning Joe and Mika mock Trump's petty feud with Mitch McConnell

MSNBC's Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinksi mocked Donald Trump's ongoing feud with Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell.
The Kentucky Republican has been talking up the recently signed infrastructure bill in his home state, while Trump trashes him from the sidelines as a "old broken-down crow" for helping to pass President Joe Biden's legislative achievement, and the "Morning Joe" co-hosts ridiculed the twice-impeached one-term president as childish.
"My gosh, I'm reading this, he's like a 5-year-old," Brzezinski said. "I know we knew this, but I guess we have not read his words."
"It's so interesting you said that it reminded you of a fifth-grader," Scarborough said. "I was listening to that and thinking, 'Oh, my god this sounds like a 5-year-old."
Scarborough said that childishness is harmful to the GOP, aside from Trump's personal indignity.
"So let's step back for a second," he said. "Let's talk about what everybody has been asking over the past couple of months -- is Donald Trump running in 2024? You see time and again Trump at war with people at the Republican Party. I understand, the guy still lost to Joe Biden by millions of votes. You look at the Wall Street Journal tallies, look at the Fox News tallies -- just, please. So he lost by millions and millions of votes when he was the incumbent, and as we get further away, he picks more fights with more Republicans. He goes more extreme and he goes to the most extreme elements of the Republican Party."
Trump is supporting GOP candidates that have endorsed his lies about election fraud against Republican incumbents who don't, and Scarborough said he's pursuing an increasingly smaller pool of voters.
"It started as narrowcasting and it just gets more and more narrow," he said, "and it's just to outrage the world and declare war against the press, the Democrats and an increasing number of Republicans. People see these polls -- my god, 60, 70 percent of Republicans still support Trump -- well, yeah, that's a lot lower than the 92, 93 percent it was just a year ago."
