Morning Joe’s Mika chastises Mark Halperin’s harassment victims for refusing to meet with him

In a bizarre aside during Friday's "Morning Joe," co-host Mika Brzezinski complained that the women who were sexually harassed by disgraced political pundit Mark Halperin do not want to meet with him in spite of his desire to do so.

According to Media Matters, Brzezinski said, "We also have -- some men who are willing to face the music, who are willing to face the facts, who are willing to admit to their actions 10, 20 years ago, even five years ago."

She went on to say, "Mark Halperin is more than willing to meet with his accusers and apologize with them face-to-face. I've actually tried to offer him to them. They don't want to talk to him. They don't want to talk to him. There are some -- there are some hypocrisies here."

She went on to lament that many of the men accused in these situations will "never be able to return to their careers in full form" and suggested that some form of redemption should be available to harassers who are genuinely remorseful.

Halperin is the author of Game Change, a behind-the-scenes retelling of the 2008 election. Earlier this year, multiple women came forward with stories about Halperin's uncomfortable sexual advances in the workplace. He was fired from NBC News in late October.
