MSNBC panel busts Rand Paul's 'sad and pathetic' tweets attacking ex-CIA director John Brennan

Panelists on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" shamed Sen. Rand Paul's attacks on their colleague, former CIA director John Brennan.

The Kentucky Republican went golfing with President Donald Trump over the weekend, and Monday morning tweeted a pair of attacks on Brennan, who now works for NBC News as a senior national security and intelligence analyst.

MSNBC's Joe Scarborough read the tweets aloud just moments after Paul posted them, and he said the GOP senator should be ashamed of himself for attacking the persistent Trump critic.

"I just see Rand Paul's pathetic tweet, sad and pathetic, sad and pathetic tweet," Scarborough said.

Guest Walter Isaacson was similarly aghast, and Scarborough wondered why Paul was carrying water for the president -- whom Brennan has accused of treason.

"He has a chance to meet with the president of the United States and talk about Donald Trump adopting the KGB's approach to NATO, to kowtowing to Vladimir Putin," Scarborough said. "Talk about so many things that most Americans are concerned about, (talk) about him undermining the FBI, the director of national intelligence, the CIA and yet he's going, Rand Paul, a United States senator, is going to the White House to talk about John Brennan? How pathetic is that?"
