MSNBC's Donny Deutsch presses reporter to name names in Epstein scandal -- and drops some big hints

MSNBC's Donny Deutsch pressed a reporter to name names after she reopened the Jeffrey Epstein sex abuse scandal with a series of bombshell reports.

The "Morning Joe" contributor told a disturbing story last week about how Epstein, a billionaire financier, tried to lure him into the scandal with a young girl, as investigators say he did to other rich and influential men.

"I mentioned last week on the show an experience I had with him, where he tried to kind of suck me into that world, and in 30 seconds I could see there was something very, very wrong here," Deutsch said.

Epstein, who donated large sums of money to charity and threw lavish parties, has been linked to President Donald Trump, former president Bill Clinton and Harvard Law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz, among others.

Deustch, who told viewers he declined Epstein's invitation years ago, asked Miami Herald reporter Julie Brown, who revealed a sketchy plea agreement that a judge ruled had violated the law, if she would identify some of the men who were implicated in the abuse scandal.

"I don't know if you're ever going to go there," Deutsch said, "but to really dig into the highest of the high, and not just one, men in this who had friendships with him and that -- I don't know where that story goes. It's not just one -- the highest level that you could go to had genuine friendships with this man. Julie, without naming names, you know where I'm going with this, and it not's not one, it's two. Have you peeked into that?"

Brown said she and other reporters were investigating which men might have become entangled in Epstein's sex abuse scandal, and she said the financier had many accomplices who supplied him and his friends with underage girls.

"It's been years now, and you have to hope that maybe somebody comes forward, someone has a conscience and says, 'Look, I was involved with this, I know what he did, and here's how it happened and here's who was involved," Brown said. "Really, you need people on inside, whether it's victims or people who work for him come forward."

"Morning Joe" host Joe Scarborough said those rich and powerful men, whoever they are, must eventually be held accountable for sexually abusing teenage girls.

"That is the remarkable thing about this story, a lot of very powerful people involved, the most powerful in this country in the past, possibly present, involved in this case, and the question is, how does it get opened back up?" Scarborough said. "Even if Epstein himself can't be tried again for other things because of his plea deal, these other people, these other powerful men who may have committed rape against young 14-, 15-year-old girls, how does a case get opened back up?"
