MSNBC’s Morning Joe and Mika mock Mike Pence for ‘making a fool of himself’ by lying about migrant ‘caravan’

MSNBC's Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski mocked Vice President Mike Pence for pushing baseless claims of Middle Eastern immigrants making their way north through Mexico -- only to be undercut by President Donald Trump.

The vice president said it was "inconceivable" that Middle Easterners wouldn't be among the thousands of migrants headed toward the U.S., but Trump later admitted there was no proof because there was "no proof of anything."

"Very, very existential," Scarborough said, as Brzezinski muttered in disbelief. "'Nothing is real, and nothing to get hung about -- Strawberry Fields forever.'"

The "Morning Joe" host said Pence was just the latest Trump official the president had played for a fool.

"We have certifiable, black-and-white proof here that Donald Trump makes the biggest fools of the people closest to them," Scarborough said. "Poor Mike Pence."

Brzezinski couldn't spare any sympathy for the vice president.

"I don't feel sorry for him," she said. "He can make a choice."

Scarborough insisted his sympathy was just a regional expression, like "bless his heart."

"I'm going to say it anyway because I'm a southerner," he said. "Poor Mike Pence, he set out to make a fool of himself time and time again, and Donald Trump ends up, after he walks way out on that limb, sawing it off and watching him fall. Poor Mike Pence, he's made a fool of himself again with a lie -- same with Sarah Sanders."
