Nikki Haley gets 'no applause' at New Hampshire event for attack on Dylan Mulvaney: report
May 24, 2023
Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley was reportedly greeted with stony silence on Wednesday morning when she tried to mock transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney during a campaign event in New Hampshire.
According to Semafor reporter David Weigel, Haley tried making a joke about Mulvaney, whose marketing partnership with Bud Light drew fury from American conservatives.
"Everybody know about Dylan Mulvaney?" she asked the crowd at the "Politics and Eggs" gathering at Saint Anselm College. "Bud Light? That is a guy, dressed as a girl, making fun of women!"
The joke, according to Weigel, resulted in "no applause."

As Weigel went on to note, the "Politics and Eggs" audience is generally a "polite crowd of businessmen and nonprofit people" rather than a raucous Trump-style audience.
He did write, however, that Haley did get some applause for her declaration that it's time to "take the wokeness out of the military."
Haley was the first non-Trump Republican to announce her candidacy for the 2024 presidential nomination, but so far polls have shown her struggling to break through with Republican voters.
According to polling averages from FiveThirtyEight, Haley's level of support in the 2024 GOP primary race comes in at just 4 percent.
