Off-duty NJ trooper opens fire on teens who mistakenly knocked on his door: ‘Get off my f*cking property’

An off-duty New Jersey state trooper is accused of opening fire on three teenagers who mistakenly knocked on his door and then ran away.

The teens dropped off one boy at another friend's house early Saturday in Sparta but mistakenly went to a next-door neighbor's home, where they repeatedly rang the doorbell and loudly knocked on the door, reported TAP into Sparta.

One of the boys' mother said the homeowner, Kissenger Barreau, angrily confronted the teens but did not identify himself as a state trooper.

“After knocking on the door, they heard the loud voice from inside saying ‘I don’t know who the f*ck you are, get off my f*cking property,'" said Lindsay Marasco. "They didn’t recognize the voice so they ran away, they ran to their car. Because it was in a cul-de-sac they had no choice but to drive past the house to get out. The man was in the street pointing his gun at them. They were scared and just wanted to get out of there, (and) then he shot his gun at them.”

Marasco said the boys made it just a short distance before car trouble stopped them, and she said her son called to ask for a ride and told her the homeowner had shot at them.

She urged him to call the police to report the shooting, and so he did.

But the police arrested the boys, initially saying they were charged with burglary, but the website said the actual charges have not yet been confirmed.

Marasco said her car was impounded, but she hasn't been able to track down where it was taken because state troopers kept no record of the vehicle, the incident, or anything else under the boys' names.
