Oklahoma inmate caught 'keistering' loaded gun into jail
September 03, 2013
An Oklahoma inmate got caught shooting his mouth off over the gun he smuggled into jail via his rectum, forcing him into both a hospital stay and an extended stay behind bars.
KFOR-TV reported that authorities at the Oklahoma County jail were tipped off after Mark Gregory Valadez bragged to other prisoners about smuggling a Derringer pistol into the facility, a practice reportedly known as "keistering."
Valadez managed to avoid going through a metal detector while being booked on Sunday morning on lesser charges, and Sheriff John Whetsel told KFOR a pat-down would not be able to detect it. The weapon reportedly contained one bullet in its chamber when it was discovered.
The suspect's charges were upgraded to a felony count of possession of contraband in a penal institution. The Smoking Gun reported he is being held on $5,000 bond, and also had to be hospitalized.
