An Olympian's face as she stood behind President Donald Trump at a White House reception has captured the internet's hearts and minds.
Olympic athletes, freestyle skier gold and bronze medalist Elizabeth Lemley was caught in an eye-grabbing picture by Reuters photographer Evelyn Hockstein, who documented the Winter Olympians and Paralympians' reception Thursday.
The event was to honor their efforts in the 2026 Milano Cortina Games.
Lemley appears to be clenching her lips and almost smiles as her eyes focus on the back of Trump's head. The unique expression sent the internet tee-heeing.
Alan Stamm, former Detroit News assistant metro editor, said he completely understood its cause.
"Relatable reaction by Olympic skier Elizabeth Lemley," Stamm wrote on Bluesky.
Instagram user David Webster suggested Lemley and the others were grappling with their emotions as they met the leader of the free world.
Webster commented, "You can see the look of concern for our country on most of these athletes' faces."
Instagram user Josh Chambers slyly taunted Trump with a word of advice to Lemley.
"Hold your breath girl," Chambers wrote.
