Oregon woman insists she’s ‘not racist but’ repeatedly calls neighbor a ’n****r’ in parking feud

An Oregon woman left a note littered with racial slurs for her African-American neighbor over a parking dispute, police said.

Investigators said Eva Chapin admitted to writing the notes "to get a reaction” from her neighbor, a 47-year-old naturalized U.S. citizen from Ghana, reported Oregon Live.

"I'm not a racist but I can see how someone can become hating n****rs,” read one note, written on yellow adhesive paper. “You did this. There were no n****rs in (West Linn) until u came.”

"B*tch! I've been here 22 years and no n****rs and now you,” another note read. “U made me hate n****rs now.”

A friend of the victim said the woman was disturbed that her neighbor confronted her with that much hatred over a parking spot.

The 34-year-old Chapin was charged Tuesday with harassment and two counts of second-degree intimidation.

She pleaded guilty three years ago to drunken driving and reckless driving after crashing into a street sign and tree.

Police said she had left her two preschool-age children at home alone.

Second-degree child neglect charges were dropped as part of a plea agreement, and Chapin was sentenced to five days in jail and two years of probation.
