Paranoid Trump White House officials fear colleagues may be wearing wires to spy for Mueller: report

The atmosphere in the Trump White House has taken another turn toward out-and-out paranoia, as officials are reportedly afraid that their colleagues may be wearing wires to help special prosecutor Robert Mueller gather evidence against them.

The New York Times reports that Mueller's investigation has created significant internal tensions within the Trump White House, as "the uncertainty has grown to the point that White House officials privately express fear that colleagues may be wearing a wire to surreptitiously record conversations for Mr. Mueller."

One key battle playing out right now is between White House counsel Robert McGahn and Trump attorney Ty Cobb, who are clashing over how much to cooperate with Mueller's investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

A New York Times reporter overheard Cobb at a restaurant in Washington DC this past weekend discussing a White House lawyer whom he believed to be a "spy" for McGahn.

Cobb in the past has created public spectacles by going off on angry tirades against both reporters and random internet trolls who have baited him with snarky emails.
