Pittsburgh man stops robber packing foot-long knife by chasing him with a sword

A pair of young would-be robbers got more than they bargained for when they went after a Pittsburgh market cashier and his brother with a knife, WPXI-TV reported.

Security camera footage shows one of the unidentified assailants, both described as teenagers, threatening M.C. Hydare this past Friday with what police described as a knife measuring more than a foot in length. Hydare said the one threatening him demanded money after going behind the counter.

But instead of giving in to the demands, Hydare said, his brother responded by pulling out his own sword. The footage shows Hydare's brother, who has not been identified, chasing the person holding the knife and his accomplice out the store.

One of the teens reportedly tried to steal t-shirts from the store, only to drop them while making their escape. No arrests have been made in connection with the case, and neither Hydare nor his brother were injured in the incident.

"I just want to give a message to them: Don't try this. You can have money in a better way. Not this," Hydare said. "Please stay away. Go and find work somewhere."
