During an interview with a conservative talk radio show, Portland Police Chief Danielle Outlaw bragged about kicking the "butts" of leftist counter-protesters at a far-right rally.
Willamette Week reported that Outlaw used a schoolyard fight analogy to describe the department's treatment of counter-protesters at the Patriot Prayer rally in an interview with right-wing host Lars Larson.
"I tell you, 'Meet me after school at 3:00. Right? We're gonna fight'," the police chief said. "And I come with the intention to fight. And then you get mad because I kicked your butt. And then you go back and you wail off and whine and complain."
Multiple people were after Portland police launched flash-bang grenades, pepper spray and rubber bullets at the anti-fascist demonstrators. A video taken by photojournalist Daniel V shows PPD storming the crowd upon realizing that they left two squad cars behind.
