Protesters blast tape of wailing children outside DHS secretary Kirstjen Nielsen’s home: ‘No justice, no sleep’

Protesters blared a recording of traumatized children separated from their parents during a Friday morning demonstration outside the home of Homeland Security secretary Kirstjen Nielsen.

Dozens of protesters gathered outside the Alexandria, Virginia, townhouse, where Nielsen appeared to still be home, to play the recording -- which the Cabinet official said earlier this week she had not heard.

The demonstrators chanted, "No justice, no sleep," and "free the kids," as neighbors peered out their windows but did not call the police.

Some protesters carried signs showing Nielsen's face with the caption, "child snatcher."

Nielsen was chased out of a Mexican restaurant by Democratic Socialists of America activists Tuesday night in Washington, D.C.

The next day, Nielsen wrote an executive order signed by President Donald Trump calling for a halt to the controversial family separation policy.

But the administration has not offered any specifics for reuniting those detained children with their families.
