Raw Story Announces Hiring of Rafael Noboa y Rivera as Associate Publisher

Washington, DC -- Raw Story, a leading independent and progressive news site, today announced that it has hired Rafael Noboa y Rivera as Associate Publisher. Rafael brings a wealth of experience in media relations, strategic communications and public outreach, and has also been involved in numerous political campaigns.

Noboa y Rivera previously served as a media strategist at FitzGibbon Media, a leader in media relations and message strategy for progressive organizations, where he specialized in Latino media outreach and strategic communications development for startup non-profit organizations.

"We are delighted to announce the appointment of Rafael as our new Associate Publisher. He is a highly respected and tireless communicator and his appointment comes at time when the company is experiencing tremendous audience growth," said Raw Story Publisher Roxanne Cooper.

"I am thrilled to join in the amazing work that Raw Story does, both in delivering the news of the day as well as focusing on the kind of stories that sometimes don't garner as much attention as they should," Noboa y Rivera said. "I'm really looking forward to publicizing the phenomenal work that Raw Story does, so that we can continue telling those stories."

Raw Story saw an 89 percent increase in audience in 2012 and a 44 percent increase in pageviews.
