Rudy Giuliani claims there is no ‘wrongdoing in the government’s charges’ for Trump — ignores Cohen implicated him

President Donald Trump’s attorney Rudy Giuliani said in a statement Tuesday that there’s nothing in Cohen’s guilty plea that matters to Trump.

Parsing words, Giuliani said there was nothing “in the government’s charges” about Trump. He’s correct, however, Cohen implicated Trump as part of his plea. This is a signal that Cohen will tie Trump to his charges, whether it’s official currently or not.

“There is no allegation of any wrongdoing against the President in the government’s charges against Mr. Cohen,” Giuliani said. “It is clear that, as the prosecutor noted, Mr. Cohen’s actions reflect a pattern of lies and dishonesty over a significant period of time.”
