Sean Spicer shrugs off Melissa McCarthy’s brutally uncanny SNL impersonation: ‘It was cute'

Sean Spicer shrugged off comedian Melissa McCarthy's scorching portrayal of him during an instant classic "Saturday Night Live" sketch over the weekend.

The White House press secretary told "Fox and Friends" co-host Brian Kilmeade that he first heard about McCarthy's uncannily brilliant spoof hours after the sketch aired.

"Walking out of church, I looked down -- there was a lot of texts this morning, so I had to click on the link and see what it was all about," Spicer said.

He tried to be a good sport about the "wildly exaggerated" impersonation, which one critic said would be impossible to separate from the real Spicer.

"It was cute, it was funny," Spicer told Fox News, and then tried to change the subject. "I'd rather talk about the issues the president is so committed to helping Americans on, but, you know, it's part of American culture."

Kilmeade said he "clearly got it worse" when he was spoofed by SNL's Bobby Moynihan during a sketch in October, and he appeared to be pleased when Spicer agreed.
