Seth Meyers admits he's always wrong about Trump: Maybe he'll be 'a great f*cking president'

Seth Meyers was as stunned by Donald Trump's election win, and he shared his thoughts in an emotional but hilarious monologue.

"Well, that was a real grab in the pussy," Meyers said.

He teared up as he described his mother's profound disappointment that Hillary Clinton lost, and Meyers tried to find a ray of hope in his consistently wrong view of Trump.

"I've been wrong about him at every turn," Meyers said. "When he first came down the escalator, and I boldly said on this show (that) it was a stunt and he would never really run. I then said he would never win the GOP nomination, and I certainly didn't think he'd be our next president. But the good news is, based on this pattern of me being wrong on every one of my Donald Trump predictions, he's probably going to be a great f*cking president."

Meyers said he understood that many Trump voters felt the same dismay and fear about President Barack Obama, and he hoped that the new president would not forget them after his inauguration -- but he also hoped those same voters would stand up against hatred.

"One thing that makes me hopeful (is) we know from interviews he's given over the years that he has, at any given point, held every position on every issue," Meyers said. "Pretty much his only consistent position has been anti-Rosie O'Donnell."

Meyers is hopeful that Trump isn't actually a racist, but was only acting like one in the courtship phase of the election -- the way men will go apple picking with a new girlfriend but refuse to go again once they're officially a couple.

"Let me make it clear, I am in no way trying to say that racism is as bad as apple picking," Meyers said.

Meyers suspected no one was as surprised by Trump's win as Trump himself, and he begged the president-elect to take an offer from NBC to host another season of "The Apprentice."

"This offer stands until Inauguration Day -- think about it," Meyers said.
