Republican strategist Susan Del Percio said Nancy Pelosi was taking back her House speaker role with a very strong position against President Donald Trump.
The political analyst told MSNBC's "Morning Joe" that Pelosi was careful not to overplay her hand in an interview that aired Thursday morning, when she said special counsel Robert Mueller was not obligated to follow Department of Justice guidelines against indicting the president.
"She strikes the perfect balance of saying it's not conclusive whether a sitting president can be indicted, which is just enough to tweak and go after Donald Trump and just upset him," Del Percio said. "Then she balances with, but let's see what Robert Mueller does, we have time, and that's the type of response that Donald Trump is so not prepared for."
Del Percio compared the situation to HBO's "Game of Thrones," which Trump referenced with a mock-up poster of himself he displayed during a Cabinet meeting the day before.
"We talked about it a couple times this hour about that poster that was on the table yesterday," Del Percio said. "Women dominate that show, they conquer the men in that show."
"I think that's what we're going to see from Nancy Pelosi," she added. "She knows how to play this game and frankly, I think she's going to eat his lunch."
