President Donald Trump and his closest advisors appear to agree with lawyer Rudy Giuliani's implicit acknowledgement that people on the 2016 Trump campaign conspired with Russia during the election.
NBC News senior politics editor Beth Fouhy joined MSNBC's "Meet the Press Daily" host Chuck Todd to break down the implications of Giuliani's Wednesday television appearance on special counsel Robert Mueller's investigations.
"You played all those clips of him denying collusion, and yet he would send his lawyer out on television to say that collusion did happen," she explained. "There is some huge break down of communication there or the president directed him to go out and say what Mueller's report is going to say very bluntly, very soon, that this is what happened."
Fouhy also noted the significance of what is not being said.
"Today, none of those Trump campaign folks stepped out in an outraged way and said that Rudy Giuliani had been wrong," Fouhy noted.
"Where was Jared Kushner today? Where was [campaign manager] Brad Parscale? Where was Roger Stone?" Fouhy asked. "None of those people stepped out to push back on anything Rudy Giuliani said."
"The president hasn't said a word about this and he's had near-about 20 hours and he has not corrected this either," Todd noted.
"You haven't heard from the president, anything from his son, anything from Jared, anything from Brad Parscale, anything from Roger Stone," "It's been very quiet."
"Which says to me that he and they know there is evidence to support what Rudy Giuliani said and it will be coming out very shortly," Fouhy concluded.
