Steve Bannon laughed at by legal experts listing items he can buy in prison

Steve Bannon is set to begin his sentence at Danbury minimum-security prison on July 1 after he was found in contempt of Congress for ignoring a subpoena during the Jan. 6 investigation. Critics of Bannon's, former FBI agent Peter Strzok and legal analyst Allison Gill, couldn't help but mock him.

Speaking on their "Cleanup on Aisle 45" podcast, Strzok began sifting through the items that Bannon can purchase at the prison commissary.

"This is my favorite part on 'Cleanup on Aisle 45,'" Strzok confessed. "When we get to go to a new federal correctional institution that one of the people surrounding [Donald] Trump has been incarcerated at and do a select-reading of the products available. In this case, Danbury FCI, which is where Steve Bannon is headed."

First, Strzok found it "shocking" that there was such a "broad and exhaustive list of hair and skin care products" at the prison commissary.

"But he hasn't used them up until this point in his life. Why start now? Why start in jail?" he asked.

Gill noted that a lot of people "find Jesus" in prison.

"Some people start weightlifting in prison," Gill also pointed out. "Some people learn basketball. Maybe he'll start hygiene!"

Strzok speculated if Bannon could invest in some skin peels, "get a little retinol. Wash that hair. Get a comb."

"Just hygiene, in general," suggested Gill. "Maybe just go down to two shirts."

Strzok suggested Bannon consider using a razor to shave his face.

Other hygiene items that will be available include a variety of soaps, including moisturizing soaps and Dove men's body wash, dental picks, nose hair scissors, pumice stones and nail files.

"A brush/comb combo for the first time in his life," said Strzok. He also suggested that Bannon might need five or six pumice stones if he intends to "dive into that."

The list continues with underwear that go through 2XL, but the price increases $19.50 if the individual must purchase a 3XL or higher.

There is also "a wide variety of mesh hats, mesh shorts," Strzok pointed out.

The two went on to comment on the bargain prices available to the inmates, including a Neutrogena bar for just $3.65 and a St. Ives Apricot Scrub for $5.15.

Strzok also pointed out that there is a transgender section in the list, which lists women's underwear, lotion, shoes, razors and even a sports bra.

"First of all, that's awesome," said Gill. "But I bet that comes up in [Rep. James] Comer's investigation into the politicization of the Bureau of Prisons this month."
