Stormy Daniels was threatened with physical harm over Trump claims, her attorney says

Stormy Daniels was threatened with physical harm over her alleged sexual relationship with President Donald Trump, according to her attorney.

Michael Avenatti, who's representing the porn actress in her suit against the president, refused to say who made the threat -- but he told MSNBC's "Morning Joe" it would be shown on the March 25 broadcast of "60 Minutes."

Co-host Mika Brzezinski asked whether Daniels, whose legal name is Stephanie Clifford, had been threatened with physical harm -- and Avenatti affirmed that she had.

He declined to say whether the threat came from Trump or one of his associates, but he said the threat would be discussed in an interview on CBS News with Anderson Cooper.

"I can't tell you anything beyond what I've already said," Avenatti said.

He refused to confirm or deny whether the threat came from the president, and he refused to say whether the threat involved someone pointing a gun at Daniels.

"I'm not at liberty to discuss it," Avenatti said. "You can ask it 17 different ways, I'll give you the same answer. I applaud your tenaciousness."

Avenatti agreed with Brzezinski that the $130,000 hush money payout to Daniels was unusually low for such agreements, but he said the reason for that figure would be explained when she was allowed to tell her story.

He said Daniels was not offered $130,000 by any other parties, and Avenatti suggested he has proof the president directed the payment.
