Ted Cruz gets mowed down by Adam Kinzinger and Eric Swalwell after attacking Liz Cheney

A week after attacking Big Bird, Republican Sen. Ted Cruz came under fire Saturday for suggesting that GOP Rep. Liz Cheney should join the Democratic Party.

Responding to a CNN video about whether Cheney would be a viable 2024 presidential candidate, Cruz wrote on Twitter, "Yes. It's called the Democratic primary."

Cheney shot back: "I know you're posturing for the secessionist vote, Ted. But my party, the Republican party, saved the Union. You swore an oath to the Constitution. Act like it."

Later, GOP Rep. Adam Kinzinger addressed Cruz, writing above Cheney's tweet, "Damn son Liz brought the heat on you!"

Cruz responded to Cheney and Kinzinger by saying, "These two need to hurry up and get their bottom-rated @msnbcshow. @AdamKinzinger@RepLizCheney."

Which prompted another response from Kinzinger, who wrote to Cruz, "Senator, you've been given a huge position to lead and tell people truth. Yet you have squandered it on lies and abused the patriotism of those who trusted you. I will have zero regrets… will you?"

At that point, Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell chimed in with something of a mic drop, writing above Kinzinger's tweet: "Adam, if you want @tedcruz's support you're going to have to attack his wife."
