Ted Cruz humiliates himself wondering why Pelosi wanted to talk to Trump off camera

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) apparently missed the comments from soon-to-be Speaker Nancy Pelosi when she stepped out of the White House Tuesday to speak to the press.

She asked during the meeting with President Donald Trump if they had to have their meeting in front of the press.

"Gosh, why do you think Nancy wanted the press out of the room? Why didn’t she want the American People to hear this discussion?" Cruz asked.

It's unclear if Cruz was bashing Trump or bashing Pelosi, but Fox News was attacking the latter saying she didn't want to be transparent with Americans.

Pelosi told the press that the last thing she wanted to do is humiliate the president of the United States in the Oval Office live on national television.

"We didn't want to contradict the president when he was putting forth figures that had no reality to them -- no basis in fact," Pelosi told reporters outside the White House in a rare moment of kindness in Washington. "We have to -- if we're going to proceed in all of this -- we have to have evidence-based factual truthful information about what works and what doesn't. I didn't want to -- in front of those people -- say, 'you don't know what you're talking about."
