'The president loves to tease': Bemused Anderson Cooper tries to wrap his head around Trump's cryptic trucker speech

During a speech to a group of long-range truckers in Pennsylvania, President Donald Trump made some strange and cryptic remarks for the second time in a week.

"America is being respected again. Something happened today, where a country that totally disrespected us, called with some very, very important news," the president said on Wednesday. "One of my generals came in and they said, 'you know, I have to tell you, a year ago they would have never done that.' It was a great sign of respect. You'll probably be hearing about it over the next few days."

"Do you have any clarity on what he was talking about, essentially teasing, like he is prone to do?" a perplexed Anderson Cooper asked CNN's White House correspondent Jeff Zeleny.

Zeleny was just as confused, responding that he could not figure out what the president meant.

"He was talking about some remote part of the world, obviously, that he said used to treat the U.S. without respect, but did not answer that," the correspondent responded. "It's almost like he's teasing the next episode of a reality show or something else coming up."

He went on to say that CNN did contact White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who told them the answer "would be revealed when they can."

"It's unclear if people here at the White House know what he was talking about," Zeleny said, drawing parallels to Trump's bizarre "calm before the storm" comments last week. 

"The president loves to tease," Cooper said off-handedly before shifting to another segment.
