"The View" co-host Meghan McCain said Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) clearly bothered President Donald Trump -- and that might only get worse if she challenges his re-election.
Warren released a video showing the results of a DNA test, which shows she almost certainly has Native American ancestry, and co-host Sunny Hostin lamented that the senator felt compelled to undergo that process.
"I think it's unfortunate that she had to submit to a DNA test because, if you think about it, he's been taunting her with this 'Pocahontas' stuff," Hostin said. "President Obama had to turn over his birth certificate. Trump hasn't turned over his taxes, he hasn't turned over anything."
Hostin didn't understand why the targets of Trump's racist abuse felt compelled to prove him wrong, but McCain said Warren's ad shows she's running for president in 2020.
"I'm so sick of talking about this," McCain said. "I think it means that she's definitely running for president because she wanted to put this behind her, and the politics of this are more interesting."
She also said Warren appears to have the upper hand in their political rivalry.
"She seems to be getting to him, because he was outside the White House this morning with an umbrella, like, 'I don't care, I don't care,'" McCain said. "When you go to every rally saying 'Pocahontas, Elizabeth Warren,' clearly she's getting under his skin. I think she's definitely running for president."
