'There will be things exposed': Boebert aide got warning before affair allegations got out

An aide named in an explosive ethics complaint against Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) reportedly got a warning from her ex-husband weeks before the allegations of affairs and payoffs became public knowledge — though what exactly he meant remains unconfirmed.

Clarice Navarro, Boebert's former district director, was cautioned by ex-husband Jace Ratzlaff about what might come out if their "post-marital dispute" reached a judge, according to court filings reviewed by PunchUp's Tom Latchem and Will Neal.

In a letter, posted online by PunchUp, Ratzlaff warned Navarro that "there will be things exposed that would impact your current relationship," adding it could affect "whatever image you think you might have left." The letter never identifies who Navarro was allegedly involved with, and Ratzlaff hasn't named anyone publicly.

According to the report, the letter is dated Dec. 19, 2024 — "a timeframe that lines up with an ethics complaint" alleging Navarro and Boebert had a romantic and sexual relationship from 2021 to January 2025, part of a broader filing accusing Boebert of affairs with three staffers and arranging a $200,000 payment to Navarro.

Both women have forcefully denied any relationship. "I have never had a sexual relationship or an inappropriate romantic relationship with any member of my staff — past or present," Boebert said in a statement. "This is nothing more than a politically motivated stunt designed to manipulate the ethics process, create headlines, smear me, and generate clickbait."

The Ratzlaff letter surfaced in a "since-dismissed protection-order case" he brought against Navarro in Mesa County this summer, alleging stalking. A judge initially granted Ratzlaff a temporary order, but after hearing from both sides, denied his request for a permanent one and tossed the case entirely.

PunchUp asked Ratzlaff, Navarro and Boebert directly whether the letter referred to the congresswoman. All three declined to answer, leaving the central question of the bombshell complaint unresolved.
