'They’re definitely going to take care of him': Trump admin looking to add anti-LGBTQ Gov. McCrory

North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory will be leaving his office in Jan. 2017 after losing his re-election bid to his Democratic opponent Roy Cooper, and he seems to believe he will have a role in the Trump administration, the Charlotte Observer reports.

A source close to President-elect Donald Trump's transition team said Tuesday, "They’re definitely going to take care of him." The source asked to remain unnamed.

The outgoing governor met with the president-elect last week Wednesday at Trump Tower, where he has been having his transition meetings.

McCrory attended various campaign rallies with the Trump camp over the last year. Trump called McCrory a "loyal Trump supporter from Day One," last month.

It is unclear at this time what role McCrory would play in the Trump administration. However, there has been some speculation that he would be hired for a job in the Transportation, Commerce or Energy departments.

Earlier this year, McCrory signed the discriminatory HB2 bathroom bill that targeted transgender people, requiring them to use the public restroom associated with their so-called biological sex. The bill's definition of "biological sex" reads as the "physical condition of being male or female, which is stated on a person's birth certificate."

If McCrory finds a home in the Trump administration, he would be joining an anti-LGBTQ lineup. Anti-LGBTQ cabinet picks include Vice-president elect Mike Pence, attorney general nominee Sen. Jeff Sessions, education secretary Betsy Devos, and White House advisor Steve Bannon.
