'This is almost treasonous': CNN panel rips Trump for calling on Russians to hack State Dept emails

Following a comment by GOP nominee Donald Trump where he called upon the government of Russia to track down Hillary Clinton's missing State Department emails, a CNN panel exploded in outrage with one panelist calling the suggestion "almost treasonous."

Speaking about the hack of the DNC email -- with Russians believed to be behind it -- Trump flatly stated: "Russia, if you're listening, I hope you find the 33,000 emails that are missing."

CNN host David Gregory said he didn't have words to describe Trump's press conference, which was wildly all over the place as the GOP nominee deflected questions about his connections to the Russians.

When talk turned to Trump encouraging the Russian to actively seek the emails, adding, "I think you’ll be rewarded mightily by our press," the panel didn't give him the reception he likely expected.

CNN panelist Christine Quinn was incredulous.

"The man who thinks he's going to be the president of the United States stood in front of the world and called on Russia and Putin to hack the emails of the former Secretary of State," she exclaimed. "I mean, it's honestly, and I know I'm partisan in this clearly, but it's almost treasonous!"

"And it's honestly treasonous to have 30,000 emails disappear," former South Carolina Lt. Governor Andre Brauer shot back in defense of Trump.
