Legendary filmmaker reveals 'most disturbing' part of Trump admin on CNN

A legendary filmmaker revealed what America's Founding Fathers would likely consider the "most disturbing" part of President Donald Trump's second administration in an interview with CNN.

Trump's second administration has been marked by his swift efforts to amass executive power. Trump has attacked independent agencies, fired multiple independent watchdogs, and sought to take control of the federal purse.

Filmmaker Ken Burns, who has chronicled American history across several films, said during an interview on CNN's "Inside Politics with Dana Bash" on Wednesday that the Founding Fathers anticipated someone like Trump would eventually come along to challenge American democracy. However, they would not have expected Congress to cede as much power to the executive as it has.

"Whatthey did for us isextraordinary," Burns said of the Founding Fathers.

"I think they'd come back, and they would not be upset that somebody was trying to take more executive power," he continued. "They'd beupset that Article One, about thelegislative branch, had ceded somuch power. I think that wouldbe the most disturbing thingabout what's going on rightnow."
