Trump accuses UK of ‘spying’ on his campaign one day after accepting visit with Queen

President Donald Trump accused the United Kingdom of "spying" on his campaign, based on shaky evidence from a disgraced CIA analyst.

The president cited former CIA analyst Larry Johnson, who spent years hyping an alleged "whitey tape" of Michelle Obama supposedly slurring white people, to accuse the U.S. ally of improperly conducting surveillance against his campaign.

“'Former CIA analyst Larry Johnson accuses United Kingdom Intelligence of helping Obama Administration Spy on the 2016 Trump Presidential Campaign,'” the president tweeted, citing a report by the right-wing One America Now Network. "WOW! It is now just a question of time before the truth comes out, and when it does, it will be a beauty!"

Johnson, a blogger and occasional Russia Today guest, has been pushing that conspiracy theory since early in Trump's presidency, claiming his initial source is a Democrat with ties to the intelligence community.
