Trump auditioning a new cast of White House aides by watching them on TV

President Donald Trump has grown sick and tired of many White House aides for a variety of reasons, and he's holding a casting call for their replacements.

The president wants to shake up his administration, even after the firing of Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and his deputy and the recent departures of personal assistant John McEntee and economic adviser Gary Cohn, and he wants candidates who look the part, reported Axios.

"Trump is irritated by a fairly long list of people. And, yes, those people include John Kelly, H.R. McMaster, Jeff Sessions and, now, the troubled Veterans Affairs Secretary David Shulkin," reported Jonathan Swan for the website.

White House aides are sick with worry that Trump will replace them or their boss at any time, and while no concrete plans have been revealed about anyone's job status -- the president keeps the rumor mill spinning "with his own constant, unguarded ramblings," Axios reported.

Trump tweets out announcements on some jobs and privately calls friends and associates to float other ideas, which they often pass on to reporters.

TV personality Larry Kudlow told CNBC that he found out Wednesday he would be named chief economic adviser after the president called him to praise his television appearances.

"The president called and he said: 'It's out. ... You're on the air,'" Kudlow said. "'I'm looking at a picture of you. ... Very handsome!"

Trump is also reportedly considering frequent Fox News guest John Bolton as a replacement for national security adviser H.R. McMaster, but he's not crazy about his personal appearance.

A “source close to the White House” told CBS News that Trump wouldn't require Bolton to shave his mustache for the job, but his facial hair continues to be a “sensitive subject.”
