Trump-backing congressman: Trump might not bring 'good change' but 'you gotta break some eggs'

In recent weeks, we've seen some of Donald Trump's supporters offer increasingly unusual rationales for his candidacy.

One Trump voter told C-SPAN, for instance, that he was voting for Trump despite the fact that he feared Trump might start World War III.

And on Wednesday, Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) told a local radio station that he was backing Trump despite the fact that he had no idea if the candidate would bring about "good change."

As BuzzFeed notes, Massie said on 55KRC Ohio Wednesday that Trump is the only candidate who will really bring change to Washington D.C., even though he's something of a wild card in terms of temperament.

"I think you’re more likely to get change," he said. "I don’t know if it’s gonna be a good change, but you gotta break eggs to make an omelette."

Of course, most omelettes aren't armed with nuclear weapons, so this comparison seems to be a bit of a stretch.

Massie also suggested that many Republicans weren't climbing aboard the Trump Train because they secretly wanted a Hillary presidency to help them preserve all their special deals.

"I think some of these guys would secretly in their hearts rather have Hillary win and they’ll take a crack at it in 2020 than to have Donald Trump win and upset their apple cart and their agenda that they’ve laid out for this country," he said.
