Trump biographer explains why president loves the 'chaos' he is creating in the White House

In an interview with The New York Times,President Donald Trump complained that the presidency has lost him money.

“I lost massive amounts of money doing this job. This is not the money. This is one of the great losers of all time," the president told The Times.

Trump biographer Michael D'Antonio was not surprised at the president's statements during a Thursday interview with CNN host Don Lemon.

"At one point, he scoffed at the notion that he wasn't making money from the presidency, calling the position a loser financially," Lemon said.

D'Antonio explained that Trump loves the chaos around him and said that it was not shocking.

"He's thinking about his bottom line when he's sitting in the Oval Office. What I take away from that is that the closer things get to the heart of his administration, actually, the calmer and more to type the president becomes."

"This is true of a lot of people who are disturbed. They actually love the chaos, the tighter things get, the more comfortable they are, and the more relaxed they are."

"So this president is feeling the pressure, but he likes it. And so he's also going back to the old days. He talked about this early on in his presidency, that he wasn't making enough money," he said.

"It makes you wonder, when is it going to be about the country?" he said
