Trump brutally mocked after insisting North Korea will honor nuclear deal because of 'our handshake'

President Donald Trump lashed out at China as his "handshake" agreement with North Korea appears to be falling apart -- and Twitter users mocked his bungled attempts at foreign policy.

Trump claimed he and Kim Jong-un had ended nuclear hostilities between the U.S. and North Korea last month after a meeting in Singapore, but a follow-up meeting over the weekend with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo went poorly.

"I have confidence that Kim Jong Un will honor the contract we signed &, even more importantly, our handshake," Trump tweeted. "We agreed to the denuclearization of North Korea. China, on the other hand, may be exerting negative pressure on a deal because of our posture on Chinese Trade-Hope Not!"

Other social media users quickly pounced.
