Trump celebrates himself for fixing a problem he caused

In a Monday evening tweet, President Donald Trump took a victory lap after a judge gave his administration credit for reuniting separated border families.

"A highly respected Federal judge today stated that the “Trump Administration gets great credit” for reuniting illegal families. Thank you, and please look at the previous administrations [sic] record - not good!" said Trump.

The previous administration that Trump referred to didn't have a "no-tolerance" policy like the Trump administration does. The president was forced to correct his policy with an executive order.

Thus far, only about half of the children have been reunited with families by the deadline. Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar dodged questions about the administration not being prepared to handle the crisis of their own making.

U.S. District Judge Dana Sabraw not only celebrated the children that were reunited with their families, but he also blamed the administration for deporting 431 parents without their children. Doing so left the children stranded in U.S. custody.
