Trump cribbed his State of the Union tagline from Hillary Clinton

President Donald Trump apparently borrowed the theme for his first State of the Union address from his presidential campaign rival.

The president will declare a "New American Moment" in his address to Congress, but the same phrase turned up in a 2010 speech by Hillary Clinton, reported NBC News.

Clinton, then secretary of state, used the phrase to announce a broad foreign policy under President Barack Obama.

That “new American moment” was “a moment when our global leadership is essential, even if we must often lead in new ways,” she said.

Trump, on the other hand, seems to use the phrase to tout the successes in his first year as president.

“This is our New American Moment,” Trump will say, according to advance excerpts of the speech released by the White House. “There has never been a better time to start living the American dream.”
