Trump 'stumbled' in deposition when asked which years he was married to second wife

The jury in the E. Jean Carroll damages trial on Thursday saw footage of former President Donald Trump struggling to answer basic questions about his second marriage.

As reported by The Messenger's Adam Klasfeld, Trump in a 2022 deposition was asked by attorney Roberta Kaplan, who is representing Carroll in the case, in which years he was married to Marla Maples.

According to Klasfeld, Trump "stumbled" over the question and told Kaplan that he could get her that information at a later time.

In fact, Trump was married to Maples for six years, spanning from 1993 to 1999.

As shown by previously revealed depositions, this was not the only time Trump had difficulty remembering something related to Maples.

In fact, one key moment in the deposition came when Trump confused an old photo of Carroll for Maples, despite Trump consistently maintaining that Carroll wasn't the "type" of woman whom he'd theoretically sexually assault.

Kaplan zeroed in on this apparently contradiction during the deposition and got Trump to acknowledge that the three women he married, including his second wife who apparently bore a resemblance to E. Jean Carroll, were his "type."
