Trump snarls DOJ is 'setting a horrible precedent for the future' by investigating him

As he heads off to Iowa for a two-day, four-rally tour, Donald Trump took a parting shot at the Department of Justice on Truth Social, once again complaining about "ELECTION INTERFERENCE!!!"

According to the former president, what the DOJ is doing by investigating his part in the Jan. 6 insurrection, as well as his absconding with and hiding sensitive government documents at his Mar-a-Lago resort, is nothing less than damaging the future of the country.

On Truth Social, he wrote, "CROOKED JOE BIDEN and the Radical Left Democrats, together with their minions in the DOJ, are coming after me, that moron’s Political Opponent, like never before in the history of the USA. Crooked Joe is a Threat to Democracy!!! They are setting a horrible precedent for the future of our Country."

He then added, "Deranged Jack [Smith] and Lisa [Monaco], is it a 6 year Statute of Limitations, or just 5 years? Ask your slimeball Boss, Andrew Weissmann, what your next move will be. Does Crooked Joe Biden know, or understand, what you are doing to our Failing Nation???"

Weissmann is a former investigator for special counsel Robert Mueller who frequently comments on Trump's legal wranglings for MSNBC. Monaco is the Deputy Attorney General of the U.S.
