President Donald Trump's Truth Social post depicting "Donald Ducks" invading Canada baffled critics north and south of the border.
On Saturday, Trump posted an AI-generated video showing armed geese with his hairstyle invading from "Lake America." The post comes after Trump signed an executive order renaming Lake Ontario to Lake America, which came with jokes about renaming the Canadian geese living in the Great Lake "Donald Ducks." Onlookers from both the U.S. and Canada responded with collective online facepalming.
Canadian radio host and podcaster Dean Blundell lamented in a post on X that Trump "dominates news cycles on a weekend. He does this from a gilded toilet behind fences and a wall of secret security because he's a p--. Americans would burn down the White House if he tried to 'invade' Canada."
"This dude is losing his mind," wrote former GOP congressman Adam Kinzinger about Trump. "Can't win a war but obsesses in AI like the unhinged boomer he is."
Canadian activist Marlene Robertson called Trump "a failed president with not a single achievement to call his own."
American disability rights advocate James Tate reacted to Trump's post by bemoaning, "Another day another embarrassment."
Canadian lawyer and author Warren Kinsella described the video as what happens "when a president starts dropping acid."
"If this country cannot come to a consensus that our president is insane, that raises a whole host of concerns regarding our society's ability to discern anything at all, ever," warned American author Jennifer Erin Valent. "Few things are as obvious as the fact that Trump has lost what was left of his disordered mind."
"The United States has just threatened our country Canada with an armed attack and invasion," Canadian political staffer Michael Gerald Gibbs declared. "If the Americans don't impeach and remove their President and Vice President immediately the entire world should meet to discuss collective actions to deter them."
