Trump ghostwriter ridicules belief John Kelly's replacement will reel president in

As speculation swirls around whom President Donald Trump will choose to replace outgoing White House Chief of Staff John Kelly -- who is reportedly resigning within days -- the co-author of Trump's "Art of the Deal" says it won't make any difference who is picked because Trump is uncontrollable.

In a deep dive into the career of Nick Ayers, who currently serves as a top aide to Vice President Mike Pence, Politico asked author Tony Schwartz what he thought about the 36-year-old Ayers who has the strong support of Pence, as well as Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump.

Noting that Republicans are hoping that Ayers can bring some discipline to a chaotic White House, with one aide stating, "The problem with Kelly is you just can’t have the least political person in Washington holding the most political job in Washington. You need a bona fide Machiavellian killer. That is what the president needs by his side over the next two years,” Schwartz claimed it wouldn't make any difference.

“A chief of staff for Donald Trump is a factotum and will have virtually no influence,” explained Schwartz who knows Trump intimately from his time spent with him on the book they co-authored. “Trump’s chief of staff is Trump and always will be.”

Pressed on whether Trump has ever had anyone successfully advise and control him, Schwartz batted that notion away.

“No and not even close,” he bluntly replied.
