A former Southern District of New York prosecutor said it appears that Donald Trump has spent much of his life getting away with criminal activity — but that her old employer is onto him.
Mimi Rocah, an MSNBC analyst and former assistant U.S. Attorney for the SDNY, said Saturday morning that the tree of investigations emanating from special counsel Robert Mueller's probe creates a "huge" liability for Trump.
Last week, reports emerged that the SDNY has subpoenaed Trump's inaugural committee on suspicion of money laundering and making false statements.
Investigators have gotten — and in some cases "been handed" — multiple leads from Mueller, Rocah noted, and will likely be able to "do wonders" with them.
"The way I would look at it, he seems like he and many people around him have probably gotten away with a lifetime of crime," the former prosecutor said.
With good investigators putting those potential crimes under a "microscope," Rocah added, that wrongdoing is "going to come back" to him.
