FBI investigating possible Iranian hacking of Trump and Biden campaigns: report

The FBI is probing hacking attempts — purportedly by Iran — against the Trump and Biden campaigns in recent months, according to a report.

Donald Trump's campaign said it was hacked after Politico received a "dossier on J.D. Vance" from an anonymous account, the news agency reported Saturday.

Politico reporter Alex Isenstadt flagged the news on social media, saying, "Trump's campaign says it has been hacked."

"The acknowledgment came after POLITICO began receiving emails from an anonymous account with documents from inside Trump’s operation, including a dossier on JD Vance," Isenstadt wrote Saturday.

On Monday, The Washington Post reported the FBI is investigating the hacking attempts of a Trump associate and advisers to the Biden-Harris campaign. The post cited people familiar with the matter, noting the agency acknowledged it opened a national security probe in the months leading up to Election Day.

The agency began investigating in June — warning Google and other companies of phishing attempts targeting the Biden campaign — believing Iran was responsible for efforts to steal data from the two presidential campaigns.

Trump ally Roger Stone told the Post a "couple" of his personal email accounts were "compromised."
