'Comrade Kamala just lost': Trump makes wild Harris claim in midnight Truth Social spree

Former President Donald Trump took to social media early Monday morning to claim a Fox News story about previously reported information would spell doom for Vice President Kamala Harris in a key swing state.

Trump shared on Truth Social about 12:40 a.m. a Fox News report about an "unearthed" video Trump claimed would cost the Democratic presidential nominee the Keystone State.

"Comrade Kamala just LOST Pennsylvania!" Trump wrote.

The report details Harris' 2019 appearance on the "Tonight Show" with Jimmy Fallon during which Harris called climate change a serious global concern and committed herself to several policies to combat it, among them a fracking ban.

"Climate change is the single greatest threat facing our world today," Harris said at the time. "That’s why I am committed to passing a Green New Deal."

This is not new information about Harris, a point the Fox News report acknowledges.

"Trump has seized on Harris’ previous push for a fracking ban in recent weeks," the report states, "arguing during the debate last week that fracking in Pennsylvania will end on day one" if she is elected president."

Harris in a CNN interview denied Trump's claim and said she has changed her position on fracking.

“I think the most important and most significant aspect of my policy perspective and decisions is my values have not changed,” Harris told Dana Bash. “What I have seen is that we can grow and we can increase a thriving clean energy economy without banning fracking."

Harris' campaign has been sending this message since early August, reports show. Axios reported on Aug. 9 that Harris publicly supported a fracking ban when she ran for office in 2020 and has since changed her position.

Pennsylvania polls from ABC News' 538 show Harris a point and a half ahead of Trump as of Monday morning.

Trump also resurfaced his border czar attacks in which he suggested Harris was responsible for increased immigration into the U.S. under President Joe Biden's administration.

"She is our 'Border Czar,' the worst in history, and has been for over 3 years," the former president wrote. "VOTE TRUMP AND, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"

As border czar, Harris was tasked with investigating the cause of increased immigration, not enforce security at the border, a PolitiFact check shows.

Among contributing factors Harris identified in a 2021 White House report was economic insecurity caused by climate change.
